I have endured a harsh January, a rocky start to February, and today I am gifted with a few hours to myself to send some news about some pretty wonderful things that are happening in the midst of, evacuating from the Palisades Fire and caring for my aged parents before, during, and after. Parents, if you are reading this, please make a plan for your kids so they don’t have to do it on a whim (I’ll leave it at that).
First (and for me, most exciting), my book Sunkissed 85 has been acquired and added to the Delaware Art Museum’s Library holdings. To say I am honored is an understatement. I know this work should be well documented for historical purposes sheerly for the sake of the discontinued film, Polaroid Type 85 and all the 20+ years I put into the project, so it makes me happy my work was not in vain and that it will live on past my life, securely tucked away inside a museum library. One of my very good friends, Carson Zullinger, set forth on his own accord to make the curator aware of it. What a beautiful gift of friendship. And what a moment in time when I needed some happy news! Grateful and honored and there isn’t a massive enough way to express these feelings. Below is a little glimpse into the Solarization work I made for Sunkissed 85 with Polaroid Type 85 pos/neg film. I still have copies available should you wish to add it to your book collection.

And there’s more…

These works are quite large scale Ilford Black and white prints mounted on diabond under no-glare matte acrylic. Lotus is 34″x31″ and Crann Bethadh is 24″x29″ and I couldn’t be happier with them.

Hold on! There is even more!
Fabrik is taking my work to a few places this year but first stop will be The LA Art Show – February 19-23, 2025.
Ida #4 is 35″ x 35″ and all the rest are 22″ in size. Ilford BW under Acrylic and mounted on diabond ready to hang. A bit of a celebration for my book Sunkissed 85, to show work acquired by the Delaware Art Museum, as mentioned above.

It’s been a bit of work to keep doing my work with efforts to exhibit and be placed in permanent collections in spontaneous spurts of rising out of LA fires and parental fires, but… it’s all ready. I managed. The force must be with me.
Thanks for reading. I hope to see you at some of these shin digs.
